Remembrance Day at New Southgate Crematorium
New Southgate Cemetery & Crematorium is inviting local people to visit on Friday 11 November when it is opening up its chapel between 10am and 12noon for Remembrance Day.
The day will start at 10am with a service and a two-minute silence observed at 11am, followed by an ‘open chapel’ period until 12pm for personal reflections.
Visitors will be able to light a candle and buy poppies in support of the Royal British Legion.
New Southgate Cemetery & Crematorium is part of Westerleigh Group, the UK’s largest owner and operator of crematoria and cemeteries, with 37 sites in England, Scotland, and Wales, all set within beautifully landscaped gardens of remembrance which provide pleasant, tranquil places for people to visit and reflect.
Site Manager Vicki Crabb said: “Remembrance Day is a time when so many people pause to think about all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
“Our grounds are a fitting place for people to visit and make their own remembrance. All are welcome.
“We wanted to do something for Remembrance Day as part of our continuing efforts to play a positive role in local community life and to engage with the people who live in the area surrounding our beautiful site.”
